Anta rabbul-mustad'afeen

To You we complain of our weakness, our failure, our shame before the people. O Most Merciful! You are the Lord of the weak and oppressed.

Wa anta rabbuna, ila man takiluna, ila ba'eedin yatajahharuna, wa ila 'aduwwin mallaktahu amrana, in lam yakun bika ghadabun 'alaynaa fala nubaali, ghayra anna 'afiyataka hiya awsa'u lana.

And You are our Lord, to whom will you entrust us? To a distant person who will treat us with enmity or to an enemy You have made over us. If You are not angry at us, we would not care, for Your pardon is greater for us.

We seek refuge in the Light of Your Face for which darknesses shine, and with which the affairs of this life and the Hereafter become good, from Your anger or displeasure fall upon us. You have the right to admonish until You are pleased, and there is no power and no might except in You.

Fa ilayka nashku da'fana, fa ilayka nashku da'fana

Rabbana afrigh 'alayhim sabran wa thabbit aqdamahum wansurhum 'alal-qawmil-kafireen.

Our Lord! Pour upon them patience, make them steadfast, and grant them victory over the Disbelivers.

O Allah! Do not grant a disbeliever any way to harm us. O Allah! We seek refuge in You from a bad decree, being overtaken by misery, the gloats of the enemies, and the pains of afflictions, and we seek refuge in You from the disliked manners, deeds, desires and diseases.

Allahumma abrim li hadhihil-ummati amra rushd, yu'azzu fihi ahlu ta'atik, wa yudhallu fihi ahlu ma'siyatik, wa yu’maru feehi bil-ma'ruf, wa yunha fihi anil-munkari ala baseeratin, ya dhul-jalali wal-ikram.

O Allah! Grant this Ummah a guiding command, by which those who obey You are strengthened, and those who disobey You are degraded, and in which the good is commanded and the evil is forbidden with clear knowledge, O Lord of Majesty and Bounty.

Allahumma arinal-haqqa haqqan warzuqnat-tiba'ah, wa arinal-batila batilan warzuqnaj-tinabah, bi rahmatika ya arhamar-rahimeen.

O Allah! Let us see the good as good, and bless us with following it. And show us the falsehood as falsehood, and bless us with staying away from it, with Your mercy, O Most Merciful!

O Allah! Enable our Imam to act by what You love and what pleases you, and lead him by his forelock to righteousness and piety. O Allah! Grant him Your guidance, and be pleased with his deeds, and grant him a guiding, righteous inner sense that guides him and helps him to what is good, O Lord of Majesty and Bounty.

O Allah! Grant us security in our lands, and continue to bless us with peace and settlement there.

Allahumma man aradana wa biladina bi su’in fash-ghilhu fi nafsih, waj'al kaydahu fi nahrih, waj'al tadbirahu tadmeerah.

O Allah! Whoever wants to harm us and our lands and the Muslims, then keep them busy with their own troubles, and return their plots to their own necks, and make their plans the cause of their own destruction.

Allahumma alayka bi man adkhala ila biladina wa biladil-Muslimeenal-Mukhaddirati wal-muskirat, Allahumma alayka bi man adkhalaha, Allahumma alayka bi murawwijehaa, wa sani'iha wa tujjariha, Allahumma alayka bi muharribiia wa ba’iha wa man a'ana alan-tishariha.

O Allah! Destroy those who brought to our land and the land of Muslims, drugs and intoxicants. O Allah! Destroy who brought them. O Allah! Destroy those who spread them and who make them and who trade in them. O Allah! Destroy those who smuggle them and sell them and help to distribute them.

O Allah! If You do not want to guide them, then grant them a great curse and damnation, if You do not want to guide them, then grant them a great curse and damnation, if You do not want to guide them, then grant them a great curse and damnation in this world and the next.

O Allah! Remove from us transgression, plagues, fornication, earthquakes and tests, and bad trials, both apparent and hidden…from this land of ours especially and from all lands of the Muslims, with Your Mercy, O Most Merciful!

O Ever-Living! O Self-Subsisting! and Supporter of all! By Your Mercy we seek assistance, rectify for us all of our affairs and do not leave us to ourselves ever for the blink of an eye or less than that.

O Allah! Raise the standing of Islam and the Muslims. O Allah! Raise the standing and the Muslims, and degrade the standing of Kufr and the Kaafireen, and Shirk and the Mushrikeen. Destroy the enemies of the Deen, and protect the lands of Islam, O Lord of the Worlds.

To You we complain of our weakness, our failure, our shame before the people. O Most Merciful! You are the Lord of the weak and oppressed.

We seek refuge in the Light of Your Face for which darknesses shine, and with which the affairs of this life and the Hereafter become good, from Your anger or displeasure fall upon us. You have the right to admonish until You are pleased, and there is no power and no might except in You.

O Allah! We seek Your protection and Your promise. O Allah! Bring down Your help and support, You are their helper and supporter, and for You they will fight.

My Mother

really these lyrics are meaningful.

Blessed is your face
Blessed is your name
My beloved
Blessed is your smile
Which makes my soul want to fly
My beloved
All the nights
And all the times
That you cared for me
But I never realised it
And now it’s too late
Forgive me

Now I’m alone filled with so much shame
For all the years I caused you pain
If only I could sleep in your arms again
Mother I’m lost without you

You were the sun that brightened my day
Now who’s going to wipe my tears away
If only I knew what I know today
Mother I’m lost without you

----------

Mother... Mother... O my mother
How I long to see O mother
“Your mother, Your mother, Your mother”
Is the saying of your Prophet
In my heart, in my dreams
You are always with me mother

You went and left me
O light of my eyes
O comfort of my nights
You went and left me
Who, other than you, will embrace me?
Who, other than you, will cover me?
Who, other than you, will guard over me?
Your pardon mother, forgive me

He who walks towards Me, I rush towards him

Abu Dharr (Radi Allah Anhu) reported Allah's Messenger (sal-allahu- alleihi-wasallam ) as saying that Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, stated:

"He who comes with goodness, there are in store for him ten like those and even more than those: 'And he who comes with vice, ' it is only for that that he is called to account. I even forgive him (as I like) and he who draws close to Me by the span of a palm I draw close to him by the cubit, and he who draws close to Me by the cubit I draw close to him by the space (covered) by two hands, and he who walks towards Me I rush towards him, and he who meets Me in the state that his sins fill the earth, but not associating anything with Me, I would meet Him with the same (vastness) of pardon (on My behalf)."

[Sahih Muslim : Book 35 Kitab Al-Dhikr, Number 6499]

Three things Man always receives after his death

And spend in the way of Allah and cast not yourselves to perdition with your own hands, and do good (to others); surely Allah loves the doers of go.
Surah Al-Baqarah : Ayah 195

Abu Huraira (Radi Allah Anhu) reported Allah's Messenger (sal-allahu- alleihi-wasallam ) as saying:
"When a man dies, his acts come to an end, but three,
1. Recurring charity,
2. Or knowledge (by which people) benefit,
3. Or a pious son, who prays for him (for the deceased)."

Fatwa on Choosing a husband

Question:

What are the most important considerations a young lady should make when choosing a husband? If she refuses someone simply for economic or worldly reasons, will that expose her to the punishment of Allah?

Response:

The most important attributes that a woman must look for in selecting a husband are character and piety. Wealth and lineage are secondary considerations. The most important aspect is that the proposed groom be a person of piety and proper behavior. The person of proper behavior and piety will not do his wife wrong. Either he will keep her in a way that is proper or he will leave her to go free in the best way. Furthermore, the person of religion and behavior may be a blessing for her and her children. She may learn manners and religion from him. If he does not have those characteristics, she should stay away from him, especially if he is one of those who is lax with respect to performing the prayers or if he is known to drink alcohol, may Allah save us. As for those who never pray, they are disbelievers. Believing women are not permissible for them nor are they permissible for the believing women. The important point is that the woman should stress character and piety. If he is also of a noble lineage, that is to be preferred. This is due to the Messenger of Allah's (peace be upon him) statement,

"If a person whose religion and character you approve of comes to you, then marry him."

However, if he is also suitable [in other ways, such as economics standing and so forth], that is better.

would like to share an email recieved today...

My mother used to ask me what the most important part of the body is.

Through the years I would take a guess at what I thought was the correct Answer.

When I was younger, I thought sound was very important to us as humans, so I said, 'My ears, Mommy.'

She said, 'No. Many people are deaf. But you keep thinking about it and I will ask you again soon.'

Several years passed before she asked me again. Since making my first attempt, I had contemplated the correct answer.

So this time I told her, 'Mommy, sight is very important to everybody, so it must be our eyes.'

She looked at me and told me, 'You are learning fast, but the answer is not correct because there are many people who are blind.'

Stumped again, I continued my quest for knowledge and over the years,
Mother asked me a couple more times and always her answer was, 'No. But you are getting smarter every year, my child.'

Then one year, my grandfather died. Everybody was hurt. Everybody was crying. Even my father cried. I remember that especially because it was only the second time I saw him cry.

My Mom looked at me when it was our turn to say our final good-bye to my Grandfather. She asked me, 'Do you know the most important body part yet, my dear?' I was shocked when she asked me this now. I always thought this was a game between her and me..

She saw the confusion on my face and told me, 'This question is very important. It shows that you have really lived in your life. For every body part you gave me in the past, I have told you were wrong and I have given you an example why.

But today is the day you need to learn this important lesson.'

She looked down at me as only a mother can. I saw her eyes well up with tears. She said, 'My dear, the most important body part is your shoulder.'

I asked, 'Is it because it holds up my head?'

She replied, 'No, it is because it can hold the head of a friend or a loved one when they cry. Everybody needs a shoulder to cry on sometime in life, my dear. I only hope that you have enough love and friends that you will always have a shoulder to cry on when you need it.'

Then and there I knew the most important body part is not a selfish one. It is made for others and not for yourself. It is sympathetic to the pain of others.

People will forget what you said. People will forget what you did . But people will NEVER forget how you made them feel.

The most Intelligent

Baraa Bin Aazib (radhiallahu anhu) narrated that Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said that Allah Ta`ala will award the highest places in Jannat to certain of His servants who were the most intelligent. The Sahaabah enquired: "How did they become the most intelligent?" Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said:

"Their whole attention and all their efforts are directed towards Allah Ta`ala. The objective of all their efforts is Allah's Pleasure. They have completely lost interest in the world, in its futility, in its pleasures and comforts. The world is contemptible to them. They choose to bear the temporary hardships of the world, hence they will gain the everlasting comfort (of the Aakhirah)."

The criterion of intelligence by Allah is Taqwa.

Refrain the Friendship of Four persons

Hadhrat Baqir (rahmatullahi alayh) narrates:

"My father (Hadhrat Zainul Aabideen) instructed me not to associate with four types of people.

(1) A fasiq. He will betray you for a morsel of food.

(2) A liar. He will deceive you.

(3) A stupid man. He will harm you even if he does something with a good intention.

(4) A person who severs family ties. He is described as a Ma'loon (accursed) in three places in the Qur`aan Shareef ."

Stories of the Quraan

The Glorious Qur'an, recounts a number of stories that took place throughout far-remote points of history which are full of events that one's eyes and mind cannot fail to grasp its admonition and advice. These admonitions and advice, if seriously considered, can verify and restore to the right course a great number of false beliefs and concepts. Allah the Almighty says: {Thus We relate to you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) some information of what happened before. And indeed We have given you from Us a Reminder (this Qur'an)}. (Ta-Ha, 99)

Rewards of Performing Taraweeh

According to Áli ibn Abí Tâlib , when our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was asked about the virtue of the Tárawíh and the reward for doing them, he said :

1ST NIGHT
Almighty Allah forgives all the sins of a mu'min.

2nd NIGHT
Your sins including your mu'min parents sins are forgiven.

3rd NIGHT
Below the Arsh-Allah's throne there an angel proclaims,"O, MU'MIN make good deeds with sincerity, Allah has forgiven your past sins"

4th NIGHT
You are awarded the sawaab of reading Thaurat, Injeel, Zaboor and the Quraan Majid.

5th NIGHT
You get sawaab equal to that which you would gain if you read your salaat in masjid Haram, Medina Munawara and masjid Aqsa.

6th NIGHT
You gain the sawaab of the Tawaaf made by the 70,000 angels made at Baitul Mamoor on the 7th sky.

7th NIGHT
You receive the sawaab of those good people who helped Musa A.S. when he fought Fir'un and Haman.

8th NIGHT
The rewards for the 8th taraweeh are equal to the sawaab awarded to Ibrahim A.S.

9th NIGHT
The rewards of this night are equivalent to the sawaabs awarded to our HOLY PROPHET - MUHAMMED S.A.W. [P.B.U.H]

10th NIGHT
Allah proclaims for you all the best in the world.

11th NIGHT
The reward for this night is that when a mu'min leaves this world, he goes with faith {Imaan}

12th NIGHT
On the day of resurrection you will appear with a face with so much (Nur) lustre on it, as much as the lustre of the 14th moon.

13th NIGHT
On the day of resurrection, you will be protected from evil.

14th NIGHT
On the day of resurrection, the angels will be witnesses for the taraweeh you are performing. On this evidence Allah will grant your entry into Paradise without account.

15th NIGHT
All the Malaikaas, the Hoories and the Arsh-wa-Kursie (Allah's throne) plead for you before Allah for his mercy.

16th NIGHT
Allah gives instructions: to free you from Hell - to allow you entrance to Paradise.

17th NIGHT
Allah grants you the sawaab of the Anbiya (Prophets)

18th NIGHT
On this night a angel announces that Allah is happy with you, and your parents.

19th NIGHT
The reward for this night is that Allah makes your position greater in Paradise.

20th NIGHT
On this night Allah rewards you by granting to you the sawaab of the martyred and the pious.

21st NIGHT
On this night, Allah builds a house with lustre for you in Paradise.

22nd NIGHT
On the resurrection ground you will arrive duly freed from sorrow and worry.

23rd NIGHT
On this night Allah makes a garden ("shaher") for you in Paradise.

24th NIGHT
On this night Allah grants twenty-four duas (wishes).

25th NIGHT
Allah lifts his punishment form your grave.

26th NIGHT
Allah increases for you the sawaab of 40 years.

27th NIGHT
The rewards for this night of Taraweeh are that you will be able to cross the Pul-Siraat (bridge) like lightning.

28th NIGHT
Your position in Paradise is increased by one stage.

29th NIGHT
Allah Ta'aala grants the sawaab of 1,000 "makabul" (accepted) Haj.

30th NIGHT
By performing this night of taraweeh you would be one of the many persons who, on the day of resurrection will hear Allah Ta'aala say in Paradise, "Eat whichever fruit you like to eat, bathe with the water of Salsabil and drink the Kauser water! I am thy Lord and you are my person ! "

The Virtues of Hijab

1.An act of obedience.

The hijab is an act of obedience to Allah and to his prophet (pbuh), Allah says in the Qur'an: `It is not for a believer, man or woman, when Allah and His messenger have decreed a matter that they should have an option in their decision. And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger, has indeed strayed in a plain error.' (S33:36).

Allah also said: 'And tell the believing women to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things) and protect their private parts (from illegal sexual acts, etc) and not to show off their adornment except what must (ordinarily) appear thereof, that they should draw their veils over their Juyubihinna.'(S24:31).

Juyubihinna: The respected scholars from As-Salaf As-Saleh (righteous predecessors) differed whether the veil cover of the body must include the hands and face or not. Today, respected scholars say that the hands and face must be covered. Other respected scholars say it is preferable for women to cover their whole bodies.

2.The Hijab is IFFAH (Modesty).

Allah (subhana wa'atala) made the adherence to the hijab a manifestation for chastity and modesty. Allah says: 'O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) over their bodies (when outdoors). That is most convenient that they should be known and not molested.' (S33:59). In the above Ayaah there is an evidence that the recognition of the apparent beauty of the woman is harmful to her. When the cause of attraction ends, the restriction is removed. This is illustrated in the case of elderly women who may have lost every aspect of attraction. Allah (swt) made it permissible for them to lay aside their outer garments and expose their faces and hands reminding, however, that is still better for them to keep their modesty.

3.The hijab is Tahara (Purity)

Allah (swt) had shown us the hikma (wisdom) behind the legislation of the hijab: `And when you ask them (the Prophet's wives) for anything you want, ask them from behind a screen, that is purer for your hearts and their hearts.' (S33:53).

The hijab makes for greater purity for the hearts of believing men and women because it screens against the desire of the heart. Without the hijab, the heart may or may not desire. That is why the heart is more pure when the sight is blocked (by hijab) and thus the prevention of fitna (evil actions is very much manifested. The hijab cuts off the ill thoughts and the greed of the sick hearts:

`Be not soft in speech, lest he in whose heart is a disease (of hypocrisy or evil desire for adultery, etc) should be moved with desire, but speak in an honourable manner.' (S33:32)

4.The hijab is a Shield

The prophet (pbuh) said: "Allah, Most High, is Heaven, is Ha'yeii (Bashful), Sit'teer (Shielder). He loves Haya' (Bashfulness) and Sitr (Shielding; Covering)." The Prophet (pbuh) also said: "Any woman who takes off her clothes in other than her husband's house (to show off for unlawful purposes), has broken Allah's shield upon her. "The hadith demonstrates that depending upon the kind of action committed there will be either reward (if good) or punishment (if bad).

5. The hijab is Taqwah (Righteousness)

Allah (swt) says in the Qur'an: `O children of Adam! We have bestowed raiment upon you to cover yourselves (screen your private parts, etc) and as an adornment. But the raiment of righteousness, that is better.'(S7:26). The widespread forms of dresses in the world today are mostly for show off and hardly taken as a cover and shield of the woman's body. To the believing women, however the purpose is to safeguard their bodies and cover their private parts as a manifestation of the order of Allah. It is an act of Taqwah (righteousness).

6.The hijab is Eemaan (Belief or Faith)

Allah (swt) did not address His words about the hijab except to the believing women, Al-Mo'minat. In many cases in the Qur'an Allah refers to the "the believing women". Aisha (RA), the wife of the prophet (pbuh), addressed some women from the tribe of Banu Tameem who came to visit her and had light clothes on them, they were improperly dressed: "If indeed you are believing women, then truly this is not the dress of the believing women, and if you are not believing women, then enjoy it."

7. The hijab is Haya' (Bashfulness)

There are two authentic hadith which state: "Each religion has a morality and the morality of Islam is haya'" AND "Bashfulness is from belief, and belief is in Al-Jannah (paradise)". The hijab fits the natural bashfulness which is a part of the nature of women.

8.The hijab is Gheerah

The hijab fits the natural feeling of Gheerah, which is intrinsic in the straight man who does not like people to look at his wife or daughters. Gheerah is a driving emotion that drives the straight man to safeguard women who are related to him from strangers. The straight MUSLIM man has Gheerah for ALL MUSLIM women In response to lust and desire, men look (with desire) at other women while they do not mind that other men do the same to their wives or daughters. The mixing of sexes and absence of hijab destroys the Gheera in men. Islam considers Gheerah an integral part of faith. The dignity of the wife or daughter or any other Muslim woman must be highly respected and defended.
